HAVE YOU STOPPED TO HEAR GOD’S CALL?
Vocation is a call to respond to God’s amazing love for us. We all have a vocation through our Baptism, and are called to particular vocations including marriage, consecrated life, single life and ordained ministry. Sometimes, priesthood can seem too hard or too remote from our experience. Yet for those called to priesthood, they speak of how it is their greatest joy. Every day, men are called to the priesthood. Please stop to listen to the call, and please help others to hear the call through your personal encouragement. You don’t have to have all the answers, but are you asking the question? To know more: contact Fr Richard Healey on or 0401 621 591, or visit http://dow.org.au/priesthood.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER – 14th Sunday Ordinary Time
Today’s psalm response invites us to fix our eyes “on the Lord till he shows us his mercy.” Jesus is the great sign of the mercy of God, seen through his healing, teaching and compassion for all people. Through our words and actions we too show God’s mercy to a world deeply in need of loving compassion and healing.
ANSWERING ATHEISM – DR EDWARD FESER IN THE DIOCESE
The misunderstanding about the relationship of faith and science has seen increasing numbers of people “shelving” belief in God. Often it is claimed that “science is objective” whereas belief in God is “unscientific” and therefore irrational or, at least, has no rational foundation itself. Professor and popular social commentator from the USA, Dr Edward Feser PH.D, will expose the fallacies of this world view including its inherent contradiction: the claim that scientism is true is not a scientific claim!”
Tuesday, 24 July at St John the Evangelist Parish, Jerematta St, Dapto Thursday, 26 July at St John the Evangelist Parish, Cordeaux St, Campbelltown. Talk from 7.30pm-8.30pm. Q&A 8.30pm-9.00pm followed by supper. Entry by donation. RSVP essential to Jane Edwards on 4253 0899 or email
