On 26 May 2012, the Diocese is celebrating the many and varied gifts, talents and opportunities for people to participate in Christ’s mission and the life of the Church.
Sharing our gifts in Christ’s mission is at the heart of our Diocesan Pastoral Plan. Through Baptism, each of us is called to participate in bearing Christ’s love to the world.
On 26 May 2012, the Diocese is celebrating the many and varied gifts, talents and opportunities for people to participate in Christ’s mission and the life of the Church. We are celebrating our life as the People of God – alive, active and interacting with the community around us. It is a wonderful opportunity to be together, as parishes, schools, religious communities and lay-led communities and groups. The aims of the day are to celebrate the gifts we share, raise awareness of the variety of opportunities for ministry participation and provide some formation on the call to ministry and ministry life.
Our festival, ‘Spirit Alive’, begins at 10:00am at John Therry Catholic High School Rosemeadow and is run in conjunction with Our Lady Help of Christians Parish Rosemeadow, both on Demetrius Road. The festival includes: stalls, rides for the kids, food, music, showcases and two keynote speakers. A central aspect of the day will be the stalls from various faith communities, agencies and special ministry areas.
Spirit Alive PM will kick off at 4pm as we celebrate the Vigil of Pentecost with Mass with Bishop Peter Ingham followed by a BBQ and Youthfest. Check out the Spirit Alive PM Facebook Page for more information and to connect with others that are going to be there.
