The Catholic Diocese of Wollongong nurtures the spiritual lives of thousands of Catholics through its agencies, ministries and parishes, and supports thousands more in the local community through health and aged care, education, welfare and community services. The Diocese has created a new full time position and is now seeking an experienced and professional manager to lead a team of people in the area of safeguarding children, young persons and vulnerable people within the Catholic Church.
Reporting to the Diocesan Chancellor, you will work closely with the Leadership Teams of the Diocese to ensure that the current and future child safety responsibilities of the Diocese are met. With a whole of Diocese approach, you will provide advice to the Office of the Bishop, parishes, Catholic Education, CatholicCare and other key stakeholders in relation to best practice and ensuring the Diocese meets its obligations to the NSW Ombudsman and the Office of the Children’s Guardian. Central to this role will be your ability in maintaining a culture that embraces and prioritises the safeguarding of children and vulnerable people.
