PARISHES PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE BY WORKING TOGETHER – JOIN OUR PARISH SESSION
Our parish information sessions on Parishes Working Together – addressing current and future pastoral needs in the Diocese of Wollongong are generating much discussion about parishes in our Diocese and future challenges to be met by all of us. Our parish sessions are continuing on the following dates and times: ___________________________________________________________________________
For people unable to attend the parish sessions but wishing to give their feedback about discussion questions and activities in the Workbook, please access the website of the Catholic Diocese of Wollongong: www.dow.org.au OR email your responses to
Your feedback about questions in the Workbook is important as we prepare for the Regional Consultations to be held across the Diocese in April. The Regional Consultations will give people across parishes in your region the opportunity to give their views about the future configuration of parishes and sharing of programs and resources as we seek to support each other in being bearers of Christ’s love.
POPE BENEDICT’S RESIGNATION – Bishop Peter’s Statement and further information
In response to Pope Benedict’s resignation, Bishop Peter said: “I was shocked last night to hear of Pope Benedict XVI’s brave and determined decision to resign as Supreme Pontiff of our Church. His acknowledgement that he no longer has the strength of mind and body to lead today’s Church gives witness to this man of courage, integrity and unwavering dedication; a man who has discerned what is best for the Church’s mission of bringing Jesus Christ to the world. He is a humble and authentic servant leader who is more concerned for the good of the Church than his own power and position. What a sterling example for all in leadership in the Church.” The full text of Bishop’s statement is available at www.dow.org.au and an excellent summary about the process for electing a new Pope is available at: http://tinyurl.com/beysm2d
